Grill Pro-line
We custom build Grill Pro-line according to your specifications. It’s a tailor-made ceiling solution. Your design and budget are our starting point. Derako offers full support during the orientation phase, engineering, logistics handling and installation. This ensures a product that fits perfectly. The system combines high-quality solid wood panels with the Derako suspension system.
Grill Pro-line offers a broad range of wood types, sizes and finishes. All panel lengths are listed in a detailed installation plan. This allows us to guarantee stylish ceiling lines and efficient installation at minimal cost. The system can also be used for curved or arched shapes.
Description
Tailor-made panel system
For Grill Pro-line, we produce all panel lengths on the basis of the architectural design. The panels consist of solid wood slats which are attached to each other using aluminium dowels. You select the dimensions of the wood and the spacing. We produce the panel with the desired appearance. Aluminium dowels are available in two diameters, 12 mm or 20 mm. The standard colour is black, but other colours can also be used for Grill Pro-line. This gives the ceiling an exceptional appearance.
The connection between the panels is quickly realised via the half-lap dowel connection. This allows you to create a visually even surface and a smooth appearance. We guarantee stylish ceiling lines and efficient installation. All grill ceiling systems consist of a combination of solid wood panels and the Derako suspension system.
Derako suspension system
The Derako suspension system is a black Cross-Lock system with special black dowel clips. These clips ensure an invisible, dimensionally stable and sturdy connection between the Cross-Lock profile and the grill panel. The system is also suitable for installation in staggered patterns and in curved or arched shapes. Special suspension systems are available for swimming pools and extremely humid spaces.
Details
Grill Pro-line is a suspended ceiling system. You can see an overview of the system structure in the image below. The system is also suitable for walls. The design of the ceiling and wall can merge into one another. Please see our wall application for more information.
Dimensions
You can determine the dimensions of the solid wood slats and the spacing yourself.
The most common sizes are:

The lengths of the composite panels vary between 590 mm and 3590 mm. This differs per wood type.

Curved systems
Curved shapes are also possible with Grill Pro-line. The Derako suspension system is suitable for application in curved (convex and concave) shapes. Our technical department will examine the possibilities beforehand.
Prefab delivery
During the order phase, all the shapes and installation plans are presented to you for approval. During the production process, the profiles are bent and fixed in the correct radius, after which they are delivered prefab to the project site. The aluminium dowels in the panel are replaced by flexible dowels in order to create curved shapes. We can provide the profiles with a unique code for simple, efficient and correct installation.
Applications
Grill Pro-line systems can be used as a suspended indoor ceiling and suspended outdoor ceiling under a canopy. The panels are given additional treatment against weather influences for outdoor applications.
Derako systems are suitable for every building type. Due to their high resistance to fire and moisture, our systems can be safely used in healthcare, hospitality, education, public transport, recreation & leisure, retail and shopping centres, swimming pools and office buildings.
Island application
Grill Pro-line is also suitable for island applications. Our production department provides the panels with extra sealing slats for this application. Would you like to create invisible panels during installation? For this purpose, we include dowel caps with the right wood appearance for the project. These seal the half-lap dowel connections.
Bring nature inside
Wood has enormous added value for the perception, quality of space and economic value of a building. Building with wood is also very sustainable. Derako systems have been used in sustainable and circular projects by many architects, contractors and building companies. For example, at Schiphol Airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, Delta Hospital Chirec, Wroclavia Shopping Center and Alexandra Hotel. Installation
Derako systems are installed by many national and international installers and building companies. We advise them as a producer and supplier. And we support designers. This is how we create unique ceilings and walls together with you.
Installation is always performed by third parties, but they can turn to us for installation advice.
The solid wood ceiling system must always be fastened to the structural ceiling. Installation is carried out using the Derako Cross-Lock suspension system. We supply your project together with a complete package of various accessories (excluding suspension material). Demounting
Grill Base-line is fully demountable. This allows you to retain access to the plenum for repairs and maintenance work.
You can demount two panels by removing the special dowel clips on the visible side by hand. You can then move the panels downwards in a V shape and lower them. When repositioning, first bring the two panels to the ceiling in a V-shape, after which you attach the dowel clips again. For more details, please see our installation manual.
Wood and finish
Grill Pro-line includes a wide variety of wood types. Derako only uses top quality solid wood and bamboo. During the production process, our people select the best parts.
If you would like to use a different wood type, this is in many cases possible. We of course examine whether this wood type is suitable for our production process and the application.

Finish
The solid wood grill panels are as standard provided with a high-quality lacquer finish that protects the wood. This non-film-forming finish prevents wood damage caused by moisture, dust and dirt. The finish penetrates deep into the wood, but the natural properties and structures are maintained. The lacquer system structure is tailored to the application. In addition to the standard transparent finish, a large number of colours are also available. Our machines can produce every desired colour.

Acoustics
Acoustics are very important for the way people perceive a space. A space with good acoustic balance improves health, productivity, concentration, learning performance, communication and safety.
Due to its shape, processing and the natural properties of wood, Grill Pro-line is sound-absorbing. Extra attenuation can be achieved by placing a sound-absorbing (sheet) material behind the systems. This extra attenuation creates a pleasant atmosphere, also in buildings where many people congregate at the same time.
Customised acoustic material
You can optionally order acoustic non woven tissue separately. Black is the standard colour. The non woven tissue fabric is delivered including an excess length of 50 mm on both sides. During the installation at the construction site, the acoustic non tissue can be attached to the back of the panels.
Sustainable
Circular and responsible product
Building with solid wood is very ecologically responsible. The material has minimal impact on the environment, is fully biodegradable and renewable. Wood is virtually 100% CO2 neutral and has a permanent positive impact on the health of humans, the environment and the surroundings. All Derako systems are fully demountable. At the end of their lifespan, the materials are separated. The mono-components and natural raw materials that remain can be reused in the circular economy.
Cradle to Cradle
Derako designs, builds and works according to the Cradle to Cradle® principle. We want to take care of future generations. Each material must be fully reusable, without losing value. We have had our processes certified. There are five levels of certification: Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Derako is C2C Silver certified.
FSC, PEFC, A+, ISO certification
Derako invests in sustainable business practices. We use wood types with FSC® or PEFC certificates. We evaluate finishing materials on their ecological footprint and have VOC A+ certification. In addition, we embrace the quality and environmental management systems ISO9001 and ISO14001.
BREEAM and LEED
Derako ceiling systems contribute to obtaining credits within the BREEAM and LEED evaluation and certification systems. Ask our product advisors for more information.
