Cradle to Cradle façade system

Derako produces and supplies high quality Cradle to Cradle (C2C) certified double skin façades. These façades are produced per project and offer a large freedom of design with a choice of various types of sustainable timber. Thanks to the unique, patented clips, the slats can be fitted quickly and without screws or nails! This means that unsightly corrosion stripes on the façade are prevented.

The Cradle to Cradle principle

During the construction of the façade system according to the Cradle to Cradle^®-principle, not only are our present needs looked at but also the possibilities for future generations. In this way improvements are constantly worked upon within five quality categories. These improvements are in the field of material health, material recycling, renewable energy and carbon management, water management and social justice. For each category the façade system has had an individual performance assessment.

Derako wants to be sure that all their products, including the façade systems, have a lasting positive influence on people's health and the environment. Socially and environmentally responsible entrepreneurship are very important principles for Derako. Ever dwindling resources mean that the linear economy of, "buying, using and throwing away” is no longer tenable. It is necessary to operate more as a circular economy, where goods and materials can be reused and recycled. Using solid wood suits this principle!

Unique solid wood double skin façade

The Derako solid wood façade system consists of wooden slats and SLR anodized aluminium profiles which are specifically provided, per project, with cut-outs for the attachment of patented stainless steel clips.

The entire attachment of the slats takes place on the reverse side. Therefore the appearance of the wood stays intact for a long time and no screws or nails are used to mount the slats. Should a façade be renovated, then the façade system can be used horizontally or vertically. In addition, it is easy to fit façade foil behind the system in order to protect the wall from the weather or to achieve the desired colour scheme.

Quick assembly and if necessary disassembly

Because the clips are fitted in the factory, the work on site is not held up. After fitting the profiles the slats can be fitted directly onto the profiles. Because there are fewer man-hours needed for this kind of assembly, building costs are reduced. Not only are there savings because of faster assembly, but the system also offers the possibility to exchange or remove slats very easily. Also, fast access to the underlying façade or installations is therefore always possible during the building phase or subsequent maintenance work, and no additional costs are incurred because of damage to the timber or systems.

Various types of timber and bamboo

For the slats there is a choice of various types of sustainable timber. The solid wooden slats of the Cradle to Cradle façade system can be finished, if desired, with a layer of varnish in various colours. In addition, Derako also supplies a Cradle to Cradle certified ceiling system and a Cradle to Cradle certified wall system.
